Ein Quilt aus 7 alten Herrenhemden – der 7-Shirt-Quilt

Mein bisher größtes Projekt im Bereich Quilten war eine Decke, die sich 7-Shirt-Quilt nennt. Sie wird aus 7 alten Herrenhemden genäht und ist ein tolles Recycling-Projekt. 7_shirt_quilt_zuschnitte

Die Vorbereitung war sehr aufwendig, denn ich habe aus den Hemden insgesamt 40 Quadrate a 6,5 Zoll und 520 Quadrate a 2,5 Zoll geschnitten. Diese Quadrate wurden dann so (siehe Bild) zusammengenäht.

Wobei bei den 40 großen Quadraten noch die Ecken abgenäht wurden. Das Nähen war sehr anstrengend, denn man muß sehr ordentlich arbeiten, damit die verschiedenen Quadrate dann sehr schön aneinander sitzen.

Ich finde, dass sich der Quilt durchaus sehen lassen kann. Ich habe noch genug Hemden in meiner Stoffkiste und ich werde bestimmt noch mal einen nähen.
